Spoiler Después de que la historia original en cómic acabara completamente en 38 volúmenes y 343 episodios, la serie Yu-Gi-Oh continúa. La nueva serie se llama Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Generation Next (GX). El protagonista es Yuki Judai (Judai = Joven, Yu=divertido, juego, Ki=fortaleza, castillo). La historia nos cuenta la vida de este joven el cual hereda una carta del legendario duelista Yugi Moto. Tiene que aprender muchas cosas y enfrentarse a muchos duelistas. Naturalmente, su gran sueño es llegar a ser el número uno o el rey de duelos de la Academia de Duelos. La Academia de Duelos es establecida por Seto Kaiba. Está localizada en una isla septentrional muy concurrida por la gente. El propósito de la academia es crear magníficos duelistas. Para ingresar en la escuela, los candidatos tienen que pasar un test escrito y un duelo de prueba. El escrito se evalúa del 1 al 100. Luego juegan sus duelos contra los examinadores de la academia. Aunque ganen ese duelo, no quiere decir que no puedan obtener una mala puntuación por otras razones.
